About Dream Interpretations

A place to understand dream experiences with curiosity, careful explanations and room for your own perspective.

Information updated

A useful starting point

Dream Interpretations brings together a dream dictionary, explanations of dream research and tools for keeping a personal record. You can start with a symbol, describe a scene in search or browse the A–Z at your own pace.

Our aim is to answer the question that brought you here without turning uncertainty into a frightening prediction. The atlas does not assign a universal meaning to every image or claim that a dream reveals what someone else thinks.

Who is responsible

Matthias Böhm is the publisher and editorial director. A science journalist and sleep and dream interpretation expert, he brings more than ten years of experience in sleep education and health writing. His published work includes Schlaf.de and Schlafrechner.org.

On 19 October 2026, Matthias confirmed authorship and his own review of specified manuscript versions. He also directs reader clarity and correction standards. This author self-review is separate from independent specialist review; later material revisions require renewed confirmation.

What makes an explanation trustworthy

A useful explanation connects a specific claim to an appropriate source, describes what the evidence can establish and makes its limits visible. A study about waking behaviour is not automatically evidence about the meaning of a dream.

Personal associations and journal questions are optional reflection exercises. They are not diagnostic tests or findings established by a cited study.

The edition you are reading

This edition contains 25 symbol and experience guides. Publication records and bylines identify the released work; independent specialist review must be credited separately.

Technical checks can find broken links and inconsistent metadata. They cannot establish that every explanation is correct or replace the judgement of an appropriately qualified reviewer.

Questions and corrections are welcome

A clear report helps us find the right passage and assess the evidence. Include a page link and the wording you are asking about; you do not need to send a private dream or medical history.
